APSA San Francisco 2017 – Meet the Editors

If you are attending APSA in San Francisco, drop in and visit me any time at Palgrave MacMillan’s Booth 604. I’ll be sharing information on my new human rights series ‘Human Rights Interventions’ co-edited with Dr. Irene Hadiprayitno (Leiden University) under Palgrave MacMillan Senior Commissioning Editor Anca Pusca’s International Relations and Security Studies list.

We are interested in (so-called) marginal actors that push the envelope and own the human rights and security narratives: for example, performance artists and historians that organize to pull down monuments, #NoJusticeNoPride coalitions, sex workers’ transnational agitation for health care, and activists indigenizing food sovereignty claims before an international tribunal. I’m interested in your research and writing projects, for pivot books (25,000 – 50,000 words) and traditional monographs and anthologies. Narrative voice, auto-ethnography, annotated field notes, dialogue between scholar-practitioners, graphic art – we are receptive to multiple forms of communicating Knowledge.

I’ll also hold court at a meet the editor event on Saturday 2 September at 1.30PM.

SIN/GIN is preoccupied with stories about relationships between power, gender and sexuality. Together, we wonder about the collective as well as individual muscles that must flex in order that we, as individuals and as groups, can assert our right to sexual pleasure, sexual autonomy, sexual health and sexual reproductive health.
