Africa in Progress – Our Laws Are Not Always Perfect

Our laws are not always perfect. Chiseche Mibenge realised that as a young law student in Zambia. Later, as she was specialising in human rights law and visiting post-war countries, she discovered that there are personal stories behind national and international laws. And she learned that laws have different meanings for men and women. Now she sees it as her task to examine those stories behind these laws.

Our guest on this programme, Chiseche Mibenge, recently obtained her Phd at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands.

Author Sin/Gin

SIN/GIN is preoccupied with stories about relationships between power, gender and sexuality. Together, we wonder about the collective as well as individual muscles that must flex in order that we, as individuals and as groups, can assert our right to sexual pleasure, sexual autonomy, sexual health and sexual reproductive health.
